What Aircounsel does
Aircounsel operates a startup legal practice and a separate legal-engineering service for firms and in-house teams. Startup counsel covers commercial agreements, privacy and HR policies, employee equity, fundraising documents and ongoing questions from founders and operators.
Clients retain a monthly bank of counsel hours and communicate directly through Slack or WhatsApp. Unused hours roll over within a defined period, while overages use an agreed hourly rate. The firm’s published scope includes NDAs, MSAs, SaaS and vendor contracts, employment agreements, term sheets and shareholder agreements, with support through a financing round.
Its own practice uses engineered drafting and review workflows, legal playbooks and quality checks built on the Claude Code stack. Lawyers handle advice, judgment and negotiation. The engineering service brings that infrastructure to other legal teams through embedded engineers, governance, adoption and training, rather than asking those teams to assemble ad-hoc prompts themselves.
